Borealis Broadband is capable of offering a range of communication services for rural locations such as local communication infrastructures, Broadband Internet access, point-to-point wireless links and more.

For McGrath, Alaska, we have the following services available at this time:

     
Wireless Local Loop Infrastructure   Fixed-wireless broadband communication infrastructure.  Connects local village locations together with a data transport at up to 6 Mbps throughput.  Communication on this infrastructure is symmetric - the same amount of bandwidth in or out.
     
Internet Access   Delivered from a central Satellite feed link, Internet access is available at speeds up to 1.5 Mbps and fed directly into the Wireless Local Loop Infrastructure for distribution to the customer.  The satellite feed link is asymmetric - there is more bandwidth available for download than there is to upload.  This is typical for broadband Internet satellite systems.
     
Entertainment Servers   Entertainment, or "network gaming" servers, are popular on the Internet but often require a low latency (delay) in order to play properly.  This makes them unsuitable for use across a satellite link.  Therefore, local servers are deployed.  Currently available in  McGrath are:
